Whom Do You Serve?

There was once a diplomatic soldier during the civil war who wanted to please both the Yankees and the Confederates, so he decided to wear a Union Shirt and Confederate Pants for his uniform.

He then walked out onto the battlefield, thinking both sides would accept him.  He was dreadfully mistaken, as he was shot to death by both the North and South.

Matthew 6:24 says, "No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon."

God also said to the Laodicean Church, "I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of My mouth." (Revelation 3:15-16)

Deuteronomy 30:19 says, "I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live".

There is one Name under heaven whereby men must be saved, that being Jesus Christ.  We are to serve Christ, and Him alone.  We cannot walk both sides of the fence, for God Himself says He will not accept a hypocrite; and rightfully so, because He paid a high price for our redemption.

We were redeemed with the precious blood of Christ; therefore, let us give Him the love, obedience, and honor that He is worthy of receiving!
